Introduce yourself and Saint Juniper!
I'm faith! I've been in love with vintage since I was a wee little baby. I've been collecting since middle school, falling in love with brands like Ralph Lauren, Lucie Ann, and Vanity Fair. As I got older, I learned more about fashion and styling and my passion was fueled even more. Saint Juniper was born a little less than 2 years ago. I wanted to share my collection & love of vintage with the world. I think art is so important, and vintage and styling is my way of sharing my art with the world.
When you walk into a thrift store, whats something that will always catch your eye?
Because I've been thrifting for so long, I can easily spot unique and quality pieces from a mile away. Lately I've been eyeing anything with fringe, lace, and funky silhouettes. I'm always buying any vintage Ralph Lauren I see. Any pieces from 1930-1950 will also always make it into my wardrobe or collections. I love any kind of vintage denim as well. It's better quality and construction overall!
What can people expect from saint juniper?
Think you're favorite cowboy meets your favorite rockstar meets the most exquisite vintage lingerie pieces. Our pieces can stand alone, but their full potential is brought out when paired with something unexpected. We also plan to launch a fully upcycled collection of patchwork pieces, recycled denim, and lace pieces later this year!
What are your sources of inspiration?
I get a lot of inspiration from different eras of fashion. I love the juxtaposition of mixing early century “feminine” silhouettes and lace, with something more “masculine” like a 1970s printed tee, or boxy trousers. Greg Lauren and Ralph Lauren both are a huge inspiration for my upcycled pieces. I'm also inspired by people I meet at vintage markets around the world and seeing how people embrace their own uniqueness.
Whats the difference between styling for a shoot, and styling for a client?
Ooh. I would say when I style for a shoot, it's more representative of who I am, and what my brand is. It is more about showing off individual pieces as well as adding a touch of layering that might not be realistic for an every day client. With my personal clients, I tap into them. Who they are, what they want to present to the world; taking in their daily habits, what they do for work, and what they want their wardrobe to represent. Then I can pull pieces that can easily be worked into their closet, or source a whole new wardrobe for them tailored to their individuality.
Who would be a dream client of Saint Juniper?
Jacob Elordi. I think there is such a lack of interesting mens styling in celebrities. Its the same old t-shirt and jeans combo recycled. Not to mention the boring untailored suits that every red carpet stylists puts on a man. Its nothing that appeals to the eye. But with Jacob Elordi & his stylists, they do an amazing job of creating interesting looks that feel like him, while also being an attainable look for most people. I would looooove to see items sourced from Saint Juniper styled on him!
