Where are you from? My name is Vali and I grew up, and currently live in Daylesford, Victoria. All of my garments are designed, cut and sewn by myself in my forest studio, though I split my time between Melbourne and Daylesford.

Do you align with your astrological sign and what is it? I'm a Virgo, which I've always liked, it's my understanding that Virgos are quiet artistic, which I've always been, and organised, which I'm certainly not.

Who/what inspired you to start designing clothes? My Mum and Grandma taught me how to sew when i was very young, i had a doll that we would make clothes for, she had a very extensive wardrobe. My mum had a beautiful collection of fabric she had collected over the years and i would search through it to find the perfect piece to make doll dresses. I still find fabric one of my main inspirations, focusing on natural fibres, vintage and dead stock materials. Me and my friends would spend days, making outfits for our dolls, dressing them up and positioning them around the garden, to take their picture. now getting to work with the same friends, on collaborative shoots and events, it feels like a natural progression.

What is a piece of advice you'd pass onto other designers? I would tell new designers to focus on tangible skills, garment construction, pattern making and sketching, i really believe are the most important and needed skills going into the fashion industry.

Describe your favorite clothing item you provided? My favourite piece is currently my Gloved Bomber.

Who is your dream person to style in your clothes? Probably an anime character

Where do you see your art fitting into the world? I want to make beautiful, interesting clothes, in high quality natural fabrics.

Who would you like to inspire? Maybe, anyone considering a creative path in life.
